    Shortly after the breakout of the Korean War—the nation’s biggest tragedy—on June 25, 1950, the government organizations, including the president, moved to Busan, which became a provisional capital. The provincial office of Gyeongsangnam-do Province was used as the presidential residence, which has continued to remain as a monument that contains the history of Busan today.
  • 15:00 Busan Modern and Contemporary History Meseum
    The former Busan Modern History Museum was built in 1929 during the Japanese colonial period as the Busan branch of the division Oriental Development Company’s Mokpo division. The Western-style building, which shows early modernist architecture, was used as an invasion base to plunder the land, sea, and resources of Busan before liberation. After liberation, it was used as accommodation for U.S. troops.

    When you begin to feel hungry, move to the BIFF Plaza where food is plentiful, and choose between fastfood, street food, and dessert. Although popular shops have long lines, there is much to choose from, including the famous ssiat hotteok (sugar-filled, seeded griddlecake) of Nampo-dong, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and dumplings, delicious spicy glass noodles, and various skewered food. Enjoy dishes while chatting with friends, and rate the food!
